Cash Reserves Plus offers our clients an alternative to money market vehicles. Short-term, high quality bonds can potentially provide higher yields while maintaining the essential features of a money market: preservation of capital and liquidity.

Investment Strategy: Since 1985, the average money market (91 Day T-Bills) has generated a 6.3% annualized return. Over the same period, the Lehman 1-3 year Index (a slightly longer portfolio of liquid, government bonds) returned 8.0%, 1.7 percentage points more than money market. Our goal is to provide a rate of return that will generally fall in between. We invest in high quality, investment grade, short-term securities consisting of T-Bills, commercial paper, Treasuries, government agency & mortgage-backed securities, and corporate bonds. In taxable accounts we may utilize municipal and tax advantaged agency bonds to shield income from taxes. We provide exposure to bonds with more return potential than money market securities and less volatility than long-term bonds.
